Meggie Royer will be reading from her latest book of poetry, A Violet Stretch of Sky, published by Akinoga Press.

A Violet Stretch of Sky is inspired by Meggie’s fascination with folklore, mythology, and the experience of processing traumatic memories. In this collection, Meggie imagines beloved artistic and literary figures such as Virginia Woolf and van Gogh in conversation with women of myth, examines the complex nature of relationships marred by love and violence, and attempts to reconcile her teenage self with her adult self.

Meggie Royer is a Midwestern poet, short story writer, and mixed-media artist who has been nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize. Her work has been published in The San Antonio Review, The Rumpus, The Minnesota Review, and other publications.
