Eat My Words Books began on a life long dream and a vast personal collection of books. Scott VanKoughnett, owner and proprietor, opened his doors in 2014.
Our carefully curated selection of books ranges from the classics to the contemporary, the cult favorite to the unimaginable. Our shelves are anything but the expected, and we hope you find something that just may surprise you.
Eat My Words Books is located in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. Among the booming brewery and food scene, our little bookstore hopes to be a community space for all. Through events and our areas to lounge, Eat My Words is a place to connect with friends, readers, and fellow neighbors.
FAQs
Do you buy books?
We do buy books! Please call before bringing books in to confirm that we are currently buying (sometimes we run out of space). It can take a day or two for us to go through your books. If you are cleaning out a large collection, we will make home visits by appointment. We do not take fluffier reads or overly popular books, as we are likely to already have a lot of copies.
I'm looking for a specific book.
If you are looking for a specific book, feel free to call or email ahead of time. As a used bookstore, it is unlikely we will have a title that just came out.
Is the store wheelchair accessible?
Our store is accessible from a ramp. The backroom of the store, where events are usually hosted, has two small steps leading into it.
Are you hiring?
We are a small staff and are not frequently hiring, but feel free to share your resume in case we are.
