Bob Sorg Gallery (formerly Two12 Pottery) will once again be displaying its pottery, gifts, and other sundry goods. Crafting his ceramics in the very same building as Eat My Words, Bob Sorg has been a staple of the NE Minneapolis arts district for over a decade. To celebrate local art and his love of scuba diving, Sorg transforms the space along the bookstore into a underwater dreamland, displaying his coral inspired pottery. (Snorkels not provided)
Tabling outside our bookstore will be artists Anna Fitzer and Cassey Tatro of Gnarled By Nature! Fitzer and Tatro are joint venture lapidary artists. Together they find and refine treasure; their mission to bring little bits of earth magic into the everyday lives of working society. They believe stones help us keep in touch with nature. This helps instill the importance of loving and protecting the earth and its creatures.
They spend countless hours prospecting rivers and forests in search of natural materials. In cooler months, they spend their days cozy inside their tiny studio in NE Minneapolis, refining earth gifts found by ourselves, and others.
They hope our creations help people connect with our planet, and themselves. Fitzer is also the author of The Underworld Prophecies, which you can read more about here.
Alongside Gnarled By Nature we will also feature jewelry artisan Thomas Bartlett.
The artwork of Land Dweller Art will be out front this Art-A-Whirl. Land Dweller Art is the creation of NE local artist Scott Barrett. His creativity has taken many forms including block printing, stickers, textiles, and sculpting. This year Barrett will be debuting his new corduroy hats and painted denim jackets.
