About the Book: James Alfred Biersovich, former sportswriter, now head of security at the upscale La Scala department store in Minneapolis, is ready for the Christmas shopping season to begin. He thinks. It’s also 1999 and when “Beers” gets called to scenes of mischief and mayhem around the store, he realizes there’s more than a little Y2K craziness going on. Doing double-duty as the store’s Santa doesn’t help. But with a little help from his “friends”–and the Scalabrino clan–can he solve his first case and tie it up in a big red bow?
About the Author: Unlike his protagonist, P.M. LaRose knows his way around a computer keyboard given his years in the publishing and newspaper industry. A native of Louisiana and graduate of LSU with a B.A. in Journalism, P.M. LaRose has spent most of the last twenty years upriver in Minnesota working for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Anne, and calls both St. Paul and Louisiana his home. This is the debut mystery in a series starring Jimmy “Beers” Biersovich.
