Paul Spring—Artist-in-Residence, 3/5-3/26

We're thrilled to announce Eat My Word's first artist-in-residence! From 3/5 to 3/26, join Paul Spring and rotating cast of special guests as they develop and share their latest work in-store. Paul will be playing Thursday nights, starting at 6:30pm.

About the Artist:

Paul Spring is a songwriter from St. Cloud, Minnesota. He has released two full length folk-rock albums, opening for bands including Dawes and Shovels and Rope. In addition, he has released a highly reviewed family album that NPR called "an ode to books and stories, and to the families who nurture them." This April he will release his fourth full length via Bad Run Records. It is a slight departure from his previous sound, focusing more on nylon string fingerpicking and quiet arrangements.

About the Accompanying Guests:

3/5 Tabah Yames - Tabah Yames is a five piece electric ensemble from Minneapolis that began in late 2013. Their current line-up has been writing and recording since September of 2014. Their original songs cross many genres from blues, folk, funk and jazz. The group is set to release their first full length LP in the Spring of 2015.

3/12 Dylan Mcfarling - While the origins of Dylan’s style can be traced all along the Mississippi his heart belongs in the midwest. His distinctly personal, roots-oriented songwriting recalls elements of folk, soul, and vintage rock, while his rural Minnesotan roots produce a country/blues twang that furnish his stories with the sting of cold winters and romance of warm summers and lakes.

3/19 - Winston Drei Tod arose from the wooded campus of St. John's University in Collegeville, MN in the fall of 2009. Jeremy Robak, Collin Motschke and Terry Sommer met their freshman year and quickly discovered a shared passion for singing together and music-making.Winston released its debut self-titled album in July of 2011. In the winter of 2012 Andy Karel began drumming for the band, who had previously used session drummers to fill the role. Karel became a permanent member shortly after and is featured on the sophomore album Chimera (2014).

3/26 - FILTHY ANIMALS is a St. Paul Indie Rock group that blends Funk, R&B, and Psychedelic influences to create heavy grooves and lush soundscapes.
